The DX Aircraft Wing Prop Fire shall simulate a variety of fires in and around an aircraft wing and landing gear assembly. Fires shall include wing engine, wheel-break, and fuel spill. The Aircraft Wing Prop shall be designed to be portable on castors so that it can be used adjacent to a main aircraft mockup, or independent for smaller scale incident fire training scenarios. Fires shall be controlled only by the instructor using the wireless control pendant. All fires shall be equipped with monitored and interlocked pilot systems and shall utilize PLC controls with burner management.
Fireblast Global will provide the latest technology available for this unit. Our state-of-the art technology ensures maximum up-time and minimum down-time, thereby improving fire ground efficiency and reducing operational costs. Interchangeability between fires and stocking of spares means every fire scenario will operate every time.
Fires are controlled using a wireless pendant for control of pilot and the main fires. Each fire and effect is capable of operating independently or in conjunction with each other. When operated in conjunction, the effect of the ‘wing’ being on fire can be simulated. All fires use a single step push button that initiates pilot, pilot verification, and main flame in sequence.
A portable podium houses the PLC for burner management and pilot proving as per NFPA 1402. The podium includes an additional e-stop and offers an alternative to the Wireless device for control of all fires. It can control up to four (4) main fires.
Smoke System (Optional):
An optional smoke generation system is available with the burn unit. The unit includes a fluid reservoir and a distribution center. The system is capable of providing low visibility training environments during fire conditions. The smoke generation unit meets all applicable codes and standards for this type of equipment and is suitable for the application. Additionally the unit is certified compliant by North American and European testing agencies. Smoke fluid is non-combustible and non-toxic. Obscuration is 60,000 cfm per smoke generator, ensuring maximum obscuration. There is no environmental impact.
The smoke system has two output ports.
Sound Effects System (Optional):
An optional sounds effect generation system is available with the burn unit. The unit utilizes a waterproof speaker and provides up to eight (8) manually initiated sounds for use during training drills. Additional sounds can be provided upon request.
Water Cooling System (Optional):
An optional water cooling system is available upon request. Fireblast Falcon EX and DX systems utilize heavy gauge (i.e., ¼” / 6mm) thick steel and include expansion joints to limit warpage caused by thermal shock (i.e., super heating and cooling steel) from fire fighting activities. That said, some customers prefer the added security of a water cooling sprinkler system to extend mockup life. Fireblast’s water cooling system included a fire department connection (FDC) for each of use.
